I cannot believe this term ran so short away. Well, but I am already looking forward to being back home and in Prague. On Tuesday Véro and me organized a goodbye party which was really crowded and succesfull. In the afternoon Andi came and we went for the last walk through the Centre. I said goodbye to everybody and it was really sad at the end.

Donauturm
On Monday I suddenly realized my stay in Vienna is getting shorter and shorter. I started packing my stuff and finishing my plans in Vienna. In the evening I went with Lada and some of his friends to see the view from the Donauturm which is a high tower next to the UNO-City. The city at night looked great. We were sititing in a restaurant which is turning around - popular attraction in most capitals.

Manon Lescaut at the Wiener Staatsoper
Finally we went to the Vienna State Oper. There was a ballet "Manon Lescaut" - the performance was really great. Participants: Véro, me, Martin and his girlfriend. I like especially the foyers in the building - they are enourmously decorated and painted. We were standing but with almost the best possible view we could have.Thursday, January 24, 2008

Ost-West - Presentation and Porsche Driving
On Friday I went to Melk, with all people from the Ost-west Projektseminar and we did the presentation for representatives of Porsche Holding - the biggest car seller in Austria. Our presentation went very well we got a nice feedback but then the best part of the day came. We could test 6 luxurious cars ourselves, it was in fact a driving training, in some parts of the ring there was water on the road and it was slippery. I tried Porsche Carerra, Porsche Cayenne, Audi S4 and Audi A5 and VW Touran. The best car was probably the new Audi S4 - well you could buy it just for 150,000€ :-) and of course Porsche Carerra (in the picture with me), this one was fast like a sting. All the cars had electronical anti-slide steering so even if you pushed gas on the slippery road the car blocked the pedal and almost nothing happened and you could change the direction of your riding. So we could go full speed into the water and then push the full bra
ke and nothing happened, amazing :-). Thursday, January 17, 2008

Dinner on Wednesday
I´ve had dinner together with some people in my dorm on Wednesday and we eventually made some pictures. So I would like to introduce you to "Belayne", a boy from Ethiopia, who lives on the same floor with me and I really like him. He is often telling us many things about his country, he is very intelligent and also generous although he is not exactly the richest one. And then there were traditional faces - Martin, Karol, Julien etc....

WU BALL 2008 in Hofburg
Well, the biggest social event of this semester is over! I have visited the Ball of our University in Hofburg. It was great, really monumental atmosphere, huge rooms and dancing floors, live orchesters, rich flower decoration. We came in at 9 and stayed til 4:30. I was dancing with Karol - the Polish boy, and there were really a lot of people who I have met during this semester so I had a lof of fun. The best way how to describe the whole evening are probably pictures so just take a look.
