Bye bye Deloitte...hello diploma thesis...

I had to quit my student job in Deloitte´s management consulting office but that gives me an opportunity to start working on my thesis which will be focused on methods of collaborative planning used in Supply Chain Management of large multinational companies. I started gathering some information and it looks that the work on my thesis will be very interesting.

Events Flashback

Hello again. I was reluctant to post all things I had been doing for the several past months but today I decided to go on...and because there is a lot I saw and did....I am bringing you a little flashback...

I took part in almost every Cems event in the last semester and some of them were really unforgetable experience...mostly the Gala Casino night where we danced and played pocker and roullette, then great African Carnival Party...and last but not least the CEMS DAY at our university in Prague which was my big organisational succes last year.
The highlight of the last semester was my visit to Paris - and participation at the CEMS ANNUAL EVENT 2008. Me and my schoolmates spent a wonderful weekend in the french capital. There were great parties and I met my old friends from Vienna again. We stayed at the flat of Anne-Laure who also studied in Vienna with me.
I spent Christmas with my parents as usual and for the New Year´s Eve I went to London - it was perfect trip excluded the part where my friend Berenika got injured again :-). I went to London with Lucinka as well and we stayed at one friend´s place in Kensington...there was bunch of my friends and colleagues from university and we had a lot of fun.

Again, this year in January I attended the WU Ball in Vienna, taking place in Wiener Hofburg. The atmosphere of this evening was perfect, same as last year and I very much enjoyed it. Another ball I attended was my employer´s ball - Deloitte Ball 2009. I work as a student analyst in Deloitte´s Prague office in the Consulting department.

I went skiing to Italy, Bormio for 1 week, again with my friends from the CEMS MIM program. We had the best weather I´d ever had in the mountains - we were skiing on sunny slopes with beautiful snow the whole week. I just hurt my knee little bit...but fortunately at the end of our stay and it´s ok now.
This semester is very busy again, I work quite a lot and we have a lot of cems activities again. Last success of our CEMS Club is our new magazine - CEMS Prague Journal which we also celebrated properly.

The topic was financial crisis ans real-estate markets, it was very interesting and afterwards we moved to our Academic Club for a buffet and the evening concluded with nice cems drink again.

Student Alumni Mentorship Program

Last week I participated in SAMP which stands for Student Alumni Mentorship Program and it should be a meeting of CEMS Alumnis and current students where students get useful information about their future career opportunities. CEMS Alumnis work for international companies, mostly for corporate partners of the CEMS MIM Program and they are a valuable source of work experience. We were just 4 of us but also talking to 4 Alumnis. They were from Hilti Czech Republic, KPMG CZ and Vienna Insurance Group. It was a very nice evening.

Wine cellar with Cemsies

This weekend was full of interesting experience. I went with my friends from CEMS to South Moravia and we visited a true wine cellar for the first time in my life. We drank so much wine, oh my.... But it was a great weekend and on the way back we also stopped at the Chateau in Lednice and had a short walk in the park.

Club night

On Friday last week I went with two of my friends Monenka and Lucinka to a special event called "Club night". We went to 4 different places in the Centre of Prague in one evening and it was really a lot of fun. We were in Metropolitan Jazz Club and Salsa Club and in the end at the Doors revival concert.

My first CEMS drink this semester

I can tell you...I feel like being at home again because CEMS drink was exactly the thing that started everything yesterday. It is our traditional gathering of students of the CEMS MIM Program at the University of Economics in Prague and this time there were sooo many people. I really enjoyed it.
It is fun because I was doing exactly the same in Bonn :-))). Stammtisch every 2 weeks.
And otherwise everything is just fine here. And I am already looking forward to the weekend.

How is it to be back home again?

I have to admit that the first week back in CZ was quite stressful. I had to arrange a lot of things and I moved to the dorm in Prague. I am living in a student dorm again, after 3 years in a flat :-) but it´s ok because I know my roommate very well and Verusha also bought us a lot of new things in Ikea so in comparison to other people we have a really nice room.
I missed the first week of my semester but that is no problem because I did not miss anything important...I just found out that the books for my logistics minor will cost me a fortune...but of course one has to pay for the quality of education...:-).
I had meeting with my colleagues from CEMS Club Prague where I am the PR representative this year again and it´s already quite a lot of work because we have big plans for the upcoming academic year.
And I am also searching for some part-time job but this is not easy because I am already quite demanding and I found out my requirements don´t match part-time employment anymore - they always offer me full-time and that applies also for my dear T-Mobile. But so far so good we will see next week.
I also met my friends in Prague. We had a get-together dinner on Wednesday in a new flat of Monenka who is fortunately living just 10 min by walk from our dorm so it´s really convenient. And I met Lucinka again. We went for couple of beers also with my sister Bety.
My mom started working in Austria this week and she has nice stories about Austrian German (there is a really strong dialect in Amstetten but she will handle it well I am sure). Small example: da it net = das ist nichts, very useful phrase when you´re working in hospital but who can understand the first version if you hear it for the first time? Terrible, isnt´it?
Well, a lot of news and I have been at home for about one week?

Goodbye T-Mobile, Goodbye Bonn

This week was full of cheerful and sad moments for me...both at the same time :-). I had two farewell dinners, one farewell party and one farewell afternoon coffee...and I have to admit I have never said goodbye to so many people, not even after my stay in Vienna. 3 months in Bonn have brought me invaluable experience and I enjoyed every moment both at work and during my freetime. My last week at work was quite busy and also very entertaining because I just got into the topic of our project so deeply that I really regret leaving T-Mobile at this moment.
I organised my farewell party in a nice German pub but with Czech beer and my friends totally surprised me with a great present. I got small papers with messages from all participants which were hidden in baloons and I had to smash those balloons in order to read everything..it´s been fun.
On Friday I had my last day at work in T-Mobile International and we have planned our last goodbye with another colleague of mine, Thorsten. My team has prepared great presents for me...you are really all my faves now...and I can prove that!
The very last moments I have spent with my two collegues Cigdem and Sare in a very stylish fish restaurant called Le Petit Poisson. It was an honorable way how to say goodbye to each other. Now I am back to Czech Republic, the plane carried me away from the Rhine valley and there are new adventures waiting for me at my University in Prague:-).Take care everybody, hope to see you again, very soon.
