Weekend in Paris

Last weekend I visited two of my CEMS friends in Paris. Misa and Peta have a nice flat close to the City center and I had the chance to spend two nights and one and half days with them. We did some sightseeing along the river and I was finally at Musée D´Orsay where most of the French impressionist art is shown. We spent more than 3 hours inside and it was just great. I saw the original of Vincent van Gogh´s picture of his room in Arles and Paul Gauguin´s women from Tahiti and Renoir, Degas, Monet, Manet, Cézanne, Toulous-Lautrec, Courbet, Rodin - perfect master pieces. I can recommend this museum to any fan of the 19th century art. We went out in the Latin Quarter and on Sunday morning I visited a nice market near the place where the girls live. Paris is a nice place and I also tried the high-speed train for the first time:
le Thalys :-) - Cologne-Paris in 3:50 hours.

Back to Bonn...same department...different company

One year of my life is over again, I am 24 years old and I am working on my diploma thesis in Bonn. Comeback to my old supply chain management team was a very pleasant occasion and I really like it here. The company has merged with its mother again so now I am an external employee of Deutsche Telekom instead of T-Mobile International. Nevertheless, this does not change anything on the fact that I chose a really good and interesting topic for my thesis: Collaborative planning in supply chain management; and right now I am in the phase of data and information gathering, studying, reading.....Plus there is another important thing knocking on the door....what could it be....the decision about my future career?

Tour Americas

In July I spent three wonderful weeks travelling through five states in the USA. We started in New York and then flew to Las Vegas where our roadtrip began. We visited nine national parks, four big cities and drove along the Pacific coast. Our NY, Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California experience will be also soon available in our travelblog: http://touramericas.ontheroad.to/. It was a time well-spent and I have to admit that U.S. is a great country for roadtrips. Watching Manhattan from the Empire State Building, climbing in the Grand Canyon, seeing sunrise in Monument Valley, swimming in Pacific Ocean in LA, driving along the Highway No. 1 to San Francisco, standing on the shaking Golden Gate Bridge, seeing live bears in Rocky Mountains, experiencing the deadly heat in Death Valley and enjoying the night lights of Las Vegas - me and my friends, we have done all that :-). The best pictures are uploaded in facebook and the albums are accessible also through this blog on the right side.
