French visit from Véro

My dear room-mate from Vienna Véronique came for visit. We have spent a great weekend together in Bonn and surroundings and also the weather was leaned towards us :-). I took Véro to Drachenfels and we did sightseeing in Bonn and Köln and since she spent the whole weekend with me we also had time to visit Augustusschloss in Brühl and a big Hariboshop in Bonn because if you didn´t know it Haribo bonbons(Hans Riegel Bonn) come from Bonn. Véro left today I went working and I hope that we´ll see each other soon again.

Business trip to Darmstadt

Hello again. Some days have passed again and a lot of things happened. On Wednesday last week we went with my colleague Cigdem to Darmstadt to Deutsche Telekom for a meeting. It was a nice business trip and our working week was also quite busy. A lot of interviews and meetings and our project starts looking really good now.

My parents and sister came for visit!

During this weekend my family visited me and we did some sightseeing together by car, on foot and on bikes as well. Unfortunately we did not spend so much time together but it was nice. Now I am supplied with food, Czech beer and Becherovka! We were also watching the Olympic games together and cheered together when the Czech Republic woman shooter won the first golden medal in Beijing.

My birthday

I have had a very nice birthday although I actually went working. My collegues all congratulated to me and I got chocolates from Sare and Cigdem and they also bought some sekt to have a toast. In the evening Cigdem came to my place, we went to sauna and then for a drink to a bar. I have also received a lot of wishes from my family and friends. Thank you all.

Cemsies visiting me and Bonn...

Some days have gone past again and I have some new stories to tell. First of all an uexpected sickness fell on me on Thursday so I took one day off on Friday and I spent the whole day sleeping and running to the toillete nearly at the same time :-). On Saturday I had a little bit fo rest as well and then in the evening my dear cemsies Martin and Ondra came to see me and we had a great time on Sat evening and Sunday. We´ve managed to see Bonn and Köln and had a bike ride :-) which was something really adventurous for the boys, especially with the bikes I gave them. Today I went working again and they left direction Brussels, Amsterdam and whatever...not bad at all. But I stil have something to do here and I am looking forward to it. We´ve also tried Australian beer in one pub, interesting taste. And finally I had a chance to try out the sauna in my flat - it works perfectly fine and it makes you feel really fine.

Barbecue at Kathrin´s house

Our colleague Kathrin has organised a BBQ in her house for our whole team yesterday. There was a lot of tasty food because everybody brought something. I supplied the whole house with Czech beer as this was the easiest typical Czech thing that I could brought and it suited well to the Käsekrainer sausages from Gerhard, beef steaks from Christian or bulgur salad from Cigdem. In the first picture I am with Kathrin and Oliver, in the second with my turkish colleagues Sare and Cigdem and in the third you can see the whole band :-).

Antverpen

This weekend was really cool. I did some travelling, yeah! On Sunday I left Bonn early in the morning and went through Brussels to Antverpen by train. The journey went ok and I enjoyed my day full of sightseeing. I really liked the historical centre of Antverpen-the City where Rubens was born and living for years. I did not see so much of the big port, just few ships, but I had a boat trip on the Schelda river which was nice. The weather was hot, even too hot for a City walk but I enjoyed it and came back to Bonn utterly tired and prepared for another week of work. I tasted a Belgium waffel and bought some 10% alcoholic beer home just for taste. We tried it out today with my flatmate Christian and it was good - little bit sweet and strong. Antverpen is also very famous for its diamond shops - well I´ve seen some. In the pictures - skyscrapers with EU flag in Brussels, me in the Rubens garden, ships in Antverpen.

Koblenz

On Saturday 26 July I visited Koblenz which is a City situated little bit further up the Rhine at the junction with the Mosel. This point is called "Deutsches Ecke" (German Corner). I took some pictures there. The centre offered a lot of sights. I went to Koblenz by train and took my bike with me and then I was riding through the City. The weather was hot and stuffy. When I came back to Bonn a storm caught me but luckily I wasn´t far from home so I did not get so much wet :-).

T-Mobile parties

The interns of T-Mobile meet regularly every 2 weeks at the so-called Stammtisch. This time it was in Brauhaus Bönsch where they make their own beer and it was an evening full of fun. And on Friday I went to farewell party of Valentin. Great party, great evening but it really made me tired after the whole working week.

Discover Management Program - IEDC school of management, Bled

This 9day course was the best course ever. It was really demanding because at some days we were working from 9am til 2am at night and almost without breaks but it was definitely worth it because I met very interesting and nice people there and afterwards there was even time to party or go rafting to the Sava river :-). We also rented some boats and went to the island on the lake in Bled and one evening we visited Ljubljana. There were very good teachers and whole course was perfectly organised.
In total 60 participants from 16 countries - very interesting was the global village presentation where we tasted a lot of kinds of traditional alcoholic drinks :-) and everybody was speaking about his country.
